Cleaning is important for toilet mold prevention, even for moms!

Toilets always have water, and even when flushed, there's always some dirt and bacteria from urine and feces remaining, making them easy places for breeding.

Therefore, it's important to use regular toilet cleaning detergent for daily cleaning to remove even a little dirt and bacteria and keep it clean.

However, since this time it's about mold prevention during the rainy season, we'll introduce cleaning methods that require a little more effort than usual.

Next, start cleaning around the washbasin

First, remove the mats and towels around the toilet and put them in the laundry. Then, thoroughly wipe the walls and door, from top to bottom, that are a little distance from the toilet bowl with regular cleaning detergent. It's especially good to carefully wipe doorknobs, which people frequently touch.

Next, excluding outlets around the washbasin, such as bidet toilets, wipe the entire outside of the toilet bowl, the top of the toilet seat, and the underside of the toilet seat with a cloth dampened with toilet cleaning detergent.

Be sure to wipe thoroughly under the toilet seat (the very top of the toilet bowl). Once this is done, it's time for the inside of the toilet bowl.

The trick is detergent! First, spray toilet cleaner all over for about 3 minutes.

After that, thoroughly scrub away dirt with a toilet brush and rinse (if it's electric, plug it in and rinse). This completes 90% of the cleaning.

Thoroughly remove hard-to-see grime around the toilet rim!

The underside of the washbasin rim, often overlooked because it's not visible from above, can become black with dirt and mold. Be especially careful during the rainy season and wash it thoroughly.

First, apply toilet cleaner (or cream cleanser if the dirt is severe) to an old toothbrush or similar, and meticulously scrub and wipe away the dirt as if brushing teeth.

How to remove ring stains in the toilet bowl!

The ring stains inside the toilet bowl, commonly known as "neglected rings," are a combination of limescale and urine scale.

Since this grime is alkaline, use an acidic toilet cleaner. First, unplug the bidet toilet and other power sources, then push a toilet brush into the drain to lower the water level in the toilet bowl before cleaning.

Then, cover the ring stain with toilet paper and apply a "detergent pack" soaked in plenty of acidic cleaning detergent for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove the pack, scrub thoroughly with a toilet brush, and flush.

This should remove most of the ring stains, but if any black residue remains, it's black mold. Since black mold is acidic, use an alkaline toilet cleaner and clean as described above.

Caution! Using alkaline and acidic detergents together sometimes produces toxic gas. Be careful not to use them together. Even when using them alternately, flush thoroughly each time and use them on separate days, for example, to avoid any mixing.

Wipe the outside of the toilet bowl and the nearby floor thoroughly again, and you're done!

During the toilet bowl cleaning, some detergent should have splattered around the toilet. Wipe from the top to the bottom of the toilet bowl again with a toilet cleaning wipe or a rag dampened with toilet cleaning detergent.

In particular, dust and urine stains tend to accumulate discreetly around the toilet and floor, so it's a good idea to scrub thoroughly with the edge of a rag or a toothbrush. Once the toilet floor is thoroughly wiped, you're done.

Once your toilet is sparkling clean, it goes without saying that you should continue to clean it regularly. However, for mold prevention during the rainy season, try to ventilate on sunny days to dry it out as much as possible.
