The best mold prevention for your washroom is daily cleaning!

The washroom is used more often than you might think for daily hand washing, brushing teeth, and applying makeup, so it's always wet and accumulates various kinds of dirt. It's also a place where mold easily grows. It's a good idea to quickly clean just the washbasin with neutral detergent and a sponge once a day to prevent dirt buildup and mold growth.

For this extensive rainy season cleaning, we will introduce how to clean the entire washroom.

First, clean the walls, floor, and mirror of the washroom

Starting with the less soiled areas further from the washbasin, such as the walls and floor, wipe them with a microfiber cloth dipped in neutral detergent and water. For walls, wipe in an S-shape from top to bottom. Pay extra attention to areas around door handles that are frequently touched.

Next, wipe the floor, starting from the area farthest from the washbasin and moving towards it. The floor around the washbasin often has invisible splashes from brushing teeth or applying makeup, so wipe it thoroughly.

Then, clean the mirror. Most dirt can be removed by lightly wiping from top to bottom with neutral detergent or glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth.

If white stains (water spots) remain, spray the affected area with a citric acid solution (1 teaspoon citric acid mixed with 200ml water). Apply kitchen paper soaked in this solution to create a "citric acid pack" and leave it for about 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, remove the paper and lightly wipe with a cloth to complete the cleaning.

Next, thoroughly clean the shelves and faucet area around the washbasin!

First, remove all small items from the shelves and wipe them thoroughly with a cloth soaked in neutral detergent. After wiping thoroughly, dry with a clean cloth to finish.

Next, tackle the faucet area. First, wipe with a cloth soaked in neutral detergent. For any remaining white stains (water spots), spray the affected area with a citric acid solution (1 teaspoon citric acid mixed with 200ml water). Apply kitchen paper soaked in this solution to create a "citric acid pack" and leave it for about 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, remove the paper and lightly wipe with a cloth to make it completely clean! If any stains still remain, scrubbing with a melamine sponge should help.

Finally, move on to the most heavily soiled washbasin and drain

For the washbasin, soak a sponge with neutral detergent, scrub thoroughly, then rinse with water and wipe dry. If any stubborn dirt is stuck, use the aforementioned "citric acid pack" and scrub with a melamine sponge.

Now, for the last part, which is unseen but likely the dirtiest area in the washroom: the "drain." First, remove the drain plug and the hair catcher beneath it, clear any debris, then liberally spray with a bleach such as foam bleach and let it sit for about 10 minutes.

During this time, pour "pipe cleaner" into the drain and let it sit. While there are methods using baking soda and citric acid, a dedicated pipe cleaner is still recommended.

However, be sure to follow the usage instructions and recommended sitting time for each product. While usage times vary, sitting times are often between 15 to 30 minutes.

Rinse thoroughly and reattach the drain plug to finish!

Once the time is up, pour plenty of water down the drain to rinse the pipes. Scrub the hair catcher and drain plug, which were soaking, with a brush or sponge, rinse them clean, and reattach them.

Wipe away any water droplets that splashed into the washbasin, and you're done!
